Following the European elections held on 10 and 13 June 2004, the French daily newspaper Le Figaro considers the evolution of the increasing powers attributed to the European Parliament. At the same time, it reports on the budgetary repercussions that a Union enlarged to include 25 Member States has on the ‘huge machine’ that is the European Parliament.
