Vidéo In this extract, Pierre Bernard-Reymond, State Secretary for European Affairs in the French Foreign Ministry from 1979 to 1981 and Member of the European Parliament from 1984 to 1986 and from 1989 to 1999, recalls the European policy of François Mitterrand, which he considers positive overall, and stresses the role of Jacques Delors in the European Commission. However, he emphasises the timorous position of the former French President regarding the reunification of Germany and the accession of the countries of Central and Eastern Europe into the European Community.
