Texte On 23 August 1956, Pierre Alby, Deputy General Secretary of the Interministerial Committee for European Economic Cooperation in the French Prime Minister’s administration, sends a note on the main conditions that will need to be taken into consideration if Algeria is to join the European Common Market.These notes will help with preparations for the forthcoming negotiations in Val Duchesse on the relations between the overseas countries and the Common Market.
