On 20 July 1948, the Belgian daily newspaper La Dernière Heure interviews the former French Prime Minister, Paul Ramadier, Chairman of the Political Committee at the Congress of Europe in The Hague. Two months after the Congress, the Socialist politician emphasises the need for a political authority to achieve European revival and insists on the importance of the proposed European Assembly.
