Text On 26 March 1957, the day after the signing of the Rome Treaties, Paul-Henri Spaak, Belgian Foreign Minister and President of the Intergovernmental Conference on the Common Market and Euratom, delivers an address at the seat of the Banco di Roma in which he outlines the development and the economic and political implications of the revival of European integration.
