Text On 25 March 1957, during the ceremony held in Rome to mark the signing of the Treaties establishing the European Economic Community (EEC) and the European Atomic Energy Community (EAEC or Euratom), Gaetano Martino, Italian Foreign Minister, delivers an address in which he praises the efforts made by his predecessors, Alcide De Gasperi and Carlo Sforza, towards achieving European integration.
