Text On 25 March 1957, during the ceremony held in Rome to mark the signing of the Treaties establishing the European Economic Community (EEC) and the European Atomic Energy Community (EAEC or Euratom), Joseph Luns, Netherlands Foreign Minister, delivers an address in which he acknowledges the historic importance of this event for the six signatory States.
