Text On 25 March 1957, during the ceremony held in Rome to mark the signing of the Treaties establishing the European Economic Community (EEC) and European Atomic Energy Community (EAEC or Euratom), Christian Pineau, French Foreign Minister, delivers an address in which he calls for closer cooperation between the Six and the United Kingdom.
