Text On 6 December 2000, the German Chancellor, Gerhard Schröder, delivers an address to the Polish Parliament in which he recalls the role played previously by Chancellor Willy Brandt in the establishment of closer links between the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG) and Poland and argues in favour of Poland’s accession to the European Union.
