Convergence report by the Bank of Portugal: extract concerning Portugal (March 1998)
Text In March 1998, the Bank of Portugal publishes a convergence report with a view to the transition to the third stage of Economic and Monetary Union (EMU) on 1 January 1999. The report indicates that Portugal now complies with all four convergence criteria except for the one concerning government deficit.
