Flags of the 12 countries in the euro zone
Image On 1 January 2002, the euro enters into circulation in 12 of the 15 Member States of the European Union: Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain.
