Interview with Albert Breuer, an official at the Secretariat of the Special Council of Ministers of the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC) from 1953 to 1958, Head of the Conference Service and Head of the Buildings Department at the Commission of the European Atomic Energy Community (EAEC or Euratom) from 1958 to 1967 and Imprest Administrator in the Joint Interpreting and Conference Service (JICS) of the Commission of the European Communities from 1967 to 1994, carried out by the Centre Virtuel de la Connaissance sur l’Europe (CVCE) on 28 February 2007 in the studios of the Council of the European Union in Brussels. The interview was conducted by Étienne Deschamps, a Researcher at the CVCE, and particularly focuses on the following subjects: the logistical preparations for the Val Duchesse negotiations and the signing of the Rome Treaties, and Breuer’s work at the Commission of the European Atomic Energy Community (EAEC or Euratom) and in the Joint Interpreting and Conference Service of the Commission of the European Communities.
