Interview with Édouard Molitor, Director in the ‘Protocol, Disputes, Chancellery and Administrative Affairs’ Directorate of the Luxembourg Foreign Ministry from 1973 to 1978, Non-Resident Ambassador to the Holy See from 1975 to 1979, Ambassador to Vienna for Austria and Permanent Representative of Luxembourg to the United Nations in Vienna from 1978 to 1989, Ambassador to London for the United Kingdom, Ireland and Iceland and Permanent Representative of Luxembourg to Western European Union (WEU) from 1989 to 1992, Ambassador to Rome for Italy from 1992 to 1996 and for Malta from 1994 to 1996, and Permanent Representative of Luxembourg to the United Nations in Rome and to the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) from 1992 to 1996, carried out by the Centre Virtuel de la Connaissance sur l’Europe (CVCE) on 10 February 2009 at Molitor’s home and on 19 February and 2 April 2009 at the Château de Sanem. The interview was conducted by François Klein, Scientific Collaborator at the CVCE, and particularly focuses on the milestones in Molitor’s diplomatic career and the development of Luxembourg diplomacy.
