Interview with Jean-Pierre Gouzy, journalist since 1946, Member of the Executive of the French Movement for the United States of Europe from 1947 to 1948 and Member of the French Union of Federalists from 1949 to 1950, Delegate at the Congress of Europe in The Hague in 1948, Secretary-General then President of the European Federalist Movement in France from 1952 to 1973, Member of the Federal Committee of the Union of European Federalists (UEF) from 1953 to 2002, Deputy General Secretary then General Secretary of the International Centre for European Training (CIFE) from 1954 to 1982, Vice-President of the CIFE in 1983, Vice-President of the Maison de l’Europe in Paris in 1978, Professor at the European Institute of High International Studies (IEHEI) in Nice from 1960 to 1990 and Professor at the Centre for Diplomatic and Strategic Studies in Paris from 1990 to 1997, carried out by the Centre Virtuel de la Connaissance sur l’Europe (CVCE) on 19 October 2007 at the Maison de l’Europe in Paris. The interview was conducted by Étienne Deschamps, a Researcher at the CVCE, and Jean-Michel Guieu, a Lecturer at Paris 1 University, and particularly focuses on the following subjects: movements for European unity in the aftermath of the Second World War, the Hague Congress, the French Union of Federalists, the International Centre for European Training and the Association of European Journalists.
