Interview with Pierre Moscovici, Member of the European Parliament from 1994 to 1997 and from 2004 to 2007 and Vice-President of the European Parliament from 2004 to 2007, Minister for European Affairs from 1997 to 2002, French Government Representative at the Convention on the Future of Europe in 2002, President of the European Movement France from 2005 to 2006, Minister for the Economy and Finance from 2012 to 2014 and European Commissioner for Economic and Financial Affairs, Taxation and Customs since 2014, carried out by the Centre Virtuel de la Connaissance sur l’Europe (CVCE) on 23 July 2008 at the headquarters of the French Socialist Party in Paris. The interview was conducted by Christian Lekl, a Scientific Collaborator at the CVCE, and particularly focuses on the following subjects: the beginnings of Moscovici’s involvement in politics, his experience at the European Parliament and the European Movement, France’s European policy from 1997 to 2002, the work of the European Convention, the draft Constitutional Treaty and the Treaty of Lisbon.
