Text On 10 June 1996, Janez Drnovšek, Slovenian Prime Minister, forwards to Lamberto Dini, Italian Foreign Minister and President-in-Office of the Council of the European Union, a letter in which he officially applies for the accession of the Republic of Slovenia to the European Union.
