Statement by Helmut Kohl on Economic and Monetary Union (2 April 1998)
Text On 2 April 1998, in an address to the Bundestag, the German Chancellor, Helmut Kohl, argues in favour of the adoption of the single currency and sees the establishment of Economic and Monetary Union (EMU) as a key stage in the process of European unification.
