WEU Contribution to the European Union Intergovernmental Conference of 1996 (Madrid, 14 November 1995)
Text The Council of Ministers of Western European Union (WEU), meeting in Madrid on 14 November 1995, contributes to the work of the 1996 Intergovernmental Conference (IGC) on the revision of the Treaty on European Union. The document particularly analyses WEU’s relationship with the European Union and the Atlantic Alliance and puts forward proposals for the future development of the European Security and Defence Identity (ESDI).
