‘WEU officially ceases to exist’ from Le Monde (15 November 2000)
Text On 15 November 2000, following the meeting of the Foreign and Defence Ministers of Western European Union (WEU) in Marseille, the French daily newspaper Le Monde comments on the transformation of WEU into a residual organisation whose operational structures will be transferred to the European Union (EU).
