On 6 April 1998, the Danish Supreme Court rules that Denmark’s participation in the European Community, as framed in the Treaty on European Union, does not infringe the Constitution. The unanimous judgment holds that the transfer of sovereignty brought about by the Act of Accession is not incompatible with Article 20 of the Danish Constitution.
